Le verbe to Be + accustomed to
- Traduction : s’habituer
- Sa forme verbale : to Be
- Type : Verbe irrégulier
- Sa conjugaison : be, was, been
Accustomed est un adjectif s’associant au verbe to Be et suivi de ing.
La forme est donc TO BE ACCUSTOMED TO + ING
Exemple :
« We were accustomed to working together » : on avait l’habitude de travailler ensemble
Accustomed, comment l’utiliser ?
To be familiar with something and accept it as normal.
En anglais moderne on tend à plus employer « to be used to » toujours suivi de ING plutôt que « to get accustomed to ».
- Now she is used to working with children
- It’s hard at first but you’ll get used to it ! tu t’y feras !
Ses synonymes :
Become/grow/get accustomed to something : s’habituer à quelque chose
Exemples:
« We were accustomed to working together » : on avait l’habitude de travailler ensemble.
« Her eyes quickly became accustomed to the dark » : ses yeux se sont habitués à l’obscurité.
Et vous, will you get accustomed to the British way of life or to the Canadian life ?
